ARTIST'S BIO:
Lila Miller's background is in design and
illustration. As a Commercial Sketch Artist for a Monument Company, her designs
were carved into stone.
Lila's artwork is primarily landscape and figurative oil
paintings presented in her own style developed over years of living and painting
in Ontario. Lila was recently invited by juried
selection to participate in the 2007 Biennale International Art Expo
in Florence Italy.
Lila teaches
painting & drawing skills and she exhibits her work
in group shows and solo exhibitions.
ARTIST'S STATEMENT:
My works comprise of figurative drawings, portraits and
landscapes in oil.
The paintings emerge from images collected in travels, painting on location and
working with live models.
My painting style is impressionistic, with a focus on colour, line, depth and
luminosity.
An artist is a channel for the medium - and a medium for the channel...
