Lila Miller, a Finnish-Canadian Artist, has an intimate love of nature. The ancient Finns believed that spirits resided in the water, rocks and trees.  Lila portrays that spirit in her paintings...

Lila has a background in design and illustration. As a Commercial Sketch Artist for a Monument Company, her designs were carved into stone. Lila teaches painting & drawing skills and she exhibits her work in group shows and solo exhibitions. 

My works comprise of figurative drawings, portraits and landscapes in oil.  The paintings emerge from images collected in travels, painting on location and working with live models. 

My painting style is impressionistic, with a focus on colour, line, depth and luminosity.

An artist is a channel for the medium -  and a medium for the channel...
